Clergy considering retirement in the next few years are invited to a Pre-Retirement Seminar on Oct. 5-6 sponsored by the Conference Board of Pensions. The seminar, for pastors 55 and older, will cover the retirement process, as well as Social Security and Medicare issues.
One-on-one retirement meetings with General Board of Pension personnel will include individual pension projections.

The event will be held at the Four Points by Sheraton in Mars. Registration begins at 3 pm on Monday and the event concludes at 3 pm Tuesday. The $75 registration fee covers seminar materials and meals -- Monday dinner and Tuesday breakfast and lunch. Spouses are welcome to attend at no additional seminar cost. The room rate is $90 per night. You must make your own hotel reservation by calling toll-free 888-627-8175 or e-mail reservation@fourpointspghnorth.com. Be certain to mention “WPA Seminar.”
The Conference Board of Pensions will reimburse $25 for the night of Oct. 5 if you send a copy of your room receipt to the Conference treasurer by Nov. 15, 2009. Register for the seminar by Sept. 15 online at www.wpaumc.org. Look for Pre-Retirement Seminar in the Calendar/Events section.
