United Methodists in Pennsylvania are praying for a just end to the Pennsylvania budget crisis and  calling their state legislators to urge them to end the stalemate, which is nearing Day 100.

Millions of people are affected by the cutoff of state funding to help children, families, elderly persons, and those in need of vital social services. United Methodist are part of an interfaith effort to convince legislators to move quickly and to ensure vital services receive adequate funding. A United Methodist Witness in Pennsylvania is coordinating the denominational effort. Many agencies providing services have been forced to curtail their operations, or even shut down. Unfortunately, because of this crisis, some will never reopen. Some of these agencies are United Methodist-related.

We are asking United Methodists to remain in constant prayer for their legislators, and for the people who have been hurt by this budget crisis.
